Together we are standing up to cancer

These are our heroes

The lifeline and heroes of Cork Cancer Care Centre are all of our wonderful volunteers who give so freely and generously of their time to help others.

They help in the upkeep and maintenance of the centre, minding our relaxing fishtank, helping out with fundraising events, the creating, sorting, sanitising, packing and distribution of the Blankets Of Hope, step in for bag packs, offer free psychotherapy, holistic treatments and a friendly ear to so many people who are affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Many of our volunteers have had experience of cancer, either personally or through a family member or friend, and have found that they want to offer support to others and so become volunteers with Cork Cancer Care Centre. Without their wonderful help, the centre would not be what it is today – a warm, friendly, relaxing, supportive space for people who need a place to feel safe in the knowledge that there is support for them without judgement.
